Day 1, 2 & 3 - Travel, travel and more travel

So our day started with us receiving a text that our flight was going to be delayed. These texts then  with updates, sometimes seconds apart, as to the anticipated departure time. In the end we were delayed about two hours. This suited us just fine as our 8 hour layover in London was now reduced to 6 hours.  Finally around 10:30pm we boarded the British Airways Airbus A380. Leave it to the British to have a double decker aircraft.
And leave it to my lovely wife to get us in Business Class totally on points. Also have to mention the washrooms in this plane's Business Class are huge. Just saying you and a friend, and their friend and probably one more friend could comfortably fit into one of these. I'll just leave it at that but let's say the possibilities are endless.
After 10 hours flying over Canada, the North Poll and the Atlantic Ocean, we arrived at Heatrow Airport in London. After a long walk, a long bus ride and another long walk we found the British Airways Lounge where we rested for the next 6 hours (well I spent an hour of it trying to figure out how my new Blogging App worked).  The next flight took off on time. A Boeing 777. Another 5 hours in the air and then we finally made it to Tel Aviv. Got to the hotel at 6:30 Friday morning. The math initially didn't work for me as we left on Wednesday and somehow lost at least a whole day traveling. My mind was/is a bit groggy but with the help of a great clerk at the Sheraton Tel Aviv, we managed to get checked into the hotel. And again, thanks to my wife, everything including an upgrade to our suite, was on points. I had visions of sleeping away this day and did manage an hour before Sheryl advised that we all needed to stay up in order to get used to the 10 hour time difference. We dragged ourselves out of the hotel and walked around a bit. We were about to give up on the staying awake plan but came across this great juice bar. The owner of the bar asked what we wanted but soon realized we were in no condition to decide on anything. "Not to worry" he said, "I will come up with a drink personalized for you". With that he quizzed us a bit on likes and dislikes, made a couple suggestions and then created the best smoothies ever.
For the next 6 days Dr. Juice will be our go to place for that pick me up refresher.

The remainder of the day had us lying by the beautiful pool (of course under umbrellas with the heat) overlooking the mediteranean sea and then eventually walking along the boardwalk to check things out. In the end we were still too tired so had dinner at the hotel and then called it a night (well a late afternoon anyway).
